Handheld is the studio practice of Rachael Brianna, an artist and musician from the southeastern coast, currently based in Chicago.
As a graphic designer-turned-ceramicist, they create functional work that experiments heavily with surface design. They often draw from their adolescence, weaving feelings of nostalgia with reflections on mental health. Each piece becomes drenched in color, texture, and narrative, creating a tactile and ever-evolving world.
Rachael’s studio is currently at Shared Floor, a ceramic studio located inside the Bridgeport Art Center.
